Arch Pipe Details

Concrete Arch Pipe Applications:
The following is a list of typical jobs where Cretex concrete arch pipe can be used to an advantage:
Culverts under a low fill where head room is not adequate for circular pipe.
Culverts in side ditches where depth of ditch is to be kept to a minimum.
Sewers in shallow trenches where it becomes more economical to lay a single line of
arch pipe than a multiple line of circular pipe. Also, the width of trench is less, thus
        reducing the cost of excavation.
Culverts in irrigation ditches where shallow water depth is essential.
Strength:
Pipe is built in accordance with ASTM Specifications C506. Standard designs are built to meet all modern traffic loads.
Economy:
A single Cretex concrete arch pipe can replace two circular concrete pipes to give equal or greater carrying capacity at less cost. For example, a 51" span by 31" rise arch pipe when flowing full will more than equal the capacity of two 30" circular pipe flowing full.
Joints:
A smooth flowline is assured with the easily installed tongue and groove joints. Joint sealing is readily obtained with flexible joint compound.
Appurtenances:
Flared end sections provide maintenance free, hydraulically functional inlet and outlet structures for arch culverts. Bends, tees and other special shapes can be fabricated to any special job requirements.
